The Yuja fruit is native to East Asia and is also grown on the Korean island of Jeju, among other places.
Many Korean skincare brands carry individual products or even complete product ranges that are enriched with Yuja. No wonder when you look at the many skincare properties of this yellow citrus fruit!
It contains a very high content of Vitamin C, which works against skin aging. It helps, for example, to lighten dark spots and to stimulate collagen production. Yuja also contains Vitamin A. This Vitamin also gives you an anti-aging effect and additionally helps with acne because it works against acne-causing bacteria. Last but certainly not least, the citric acid contained in Yuja acts as an exfoliant and helps remove dead skin cells.
Besides skincare, the small citrus fruit is also used in other areas. It is processed into perfumes, room fragrances and bath additives, for example. You can also find it in the kitchen. For instance, Yuja tea and honey are very popular in Korea.
By the way, you can often find Yuja (유자) written as Yuza or Yuzu, the latter is the Japanese version.
